This page explains how to request deletion of your data from Konvas, operated by Wits Africa Limited. We are committed to honouring your data rights under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, and the policies of connected platforms.

1. Your right to deletion

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, and the data policies of connected platforms including Meta (WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger) and TikTok, you have the right to request deletion of personal data that Wits Africa Limited holds about you or your workspace. This page explains what data we hold, what can be deleted, and how to make a request.

2. Data we hold

Depending on how you use Konvas, we may hold: your account details (name, email address, role); workspace configuration and settings; connected channel identifiers and access tokens; customer conversation history and contact profiles received through your connected channels; internal notes and canned responses created by your team; and platform usage and diagnostic logs.

3. How to request deletion

To request deletion of your data, email privacy@witsafrica.co.ke with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Please include your workspace name or registered email address so we can locate your account. We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days, unless a longer period is required by applicable law.

4. What happens when you delete your account

When your workspace is closed or your account is deleted, we will purge your personal data, workspace settings, conversation history, and connected channel credentials within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate data that cannot be linked back to you may be retained for analytical purposes. Diagnostic logs are retained for 90 days from the date they are generated, after which they are automatically deleted.

5. Deletion of customer data

As the workspace operator, you are the data controller for the customer messages, contact profiles, and interaction data processed through your workspace. You can delete individual customer records or conversation data directly from within Konvas. If a customer contacts you directly to request deletion of their data, you are responsible for honouring that request through the platform.

6. Connected platform data

Disconnecting a channel from your workspace revokes Konvas's access to that platform. However, data already received from that channel and stored in your workspace is not automatically deleted upon disconnection. To delete that data, submit a deletion request as described in section 3, or manage it directly within your workspace settings.

7. Retention exceptions

Certain data may be retained beyond your deletion request where required by Kenyan law, to resolve disputes, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the integrity and security of the platform. Where retention is required, we will inform you of the basis and expected retention period.
